Intamarket And Xanita Assist Hospitals With Overflow Beds And Partitioning
Hospital overflow beds and partitioning for COVID-19 have been created and distributed through the collaborative efforts of Xanita, Intamarket Graphics and Intamarket Medical Technologies. Intamarket Graphics is a Xanita distributor in South Africa.
Locally manufactured, proudly South African and 100% repulpable, these products were developed to rapidly scale up much needed temporary hospital bed capacity. Intamarket’s managing director Gavin Turner explained that following a request from their USA distributor, Xanita did the design work and these overflow units have been rolled out in the USA. Working with Xanita, Intamarket Graphics has had a few prototypes made locally. ‘There is a fantastic opportunity for our customers to benefit as this product rolls out due to the converting requirements of the board. Customers will be given the cut files and be required to prepare the board and then have them packed onto pallets ready for distribution across the country or across Africa.’
‘Given the potential severity of the crisis, the main goal was to be able to produce them quickly and to this extent, Intamarket Graphics has a number of convertors on standby ready to spring into action. The beds and partitioning required no tools or power, just a bolt and wingnut. Installation takes about 45 minutes (with three persons) per two beds and two cubicles, with both cost effective and upmarket options available. Another key feature is that the products are really strong, with the bed being able to take weights up to 300kg. Our company and converters are on standby,’ added Turner.
